    Good day,

I'm new here and just wanted to tell a little about me. I just retired from 28 years on the job and am starting to scrap again. When I was a kid I was called Scrappie by the local junkyard guys in Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. I got the name scrapiron in 1979 when I was on th CB radio. I used to scrap back in the 60's and early 70's as. Kid. Started at 9 years old when we called it "pickin strawberries". We used to bust up old lead pipes that had brass fittings on them and take them to the scrapyard. We collected soda bottles, old newspapers, cardboard and car batteries for spending money. Had a lot of good memories and fun back then.

How is it now? Do you enjoy it or, is it just a way to make a living? I want to do it for extra money to supplement my retirement annuity. Is it possible to make enough money part time or is it a full time endeavor?

Thanks for for reading this and it's nice to be a part of this forum.
