    New member from south eastern Washington State

    Morning everyone, just joined the forums.



    My name is Mike, and I'm the "Outside Buyer" for a Schnitzer Steel feeder yard in Burbank, WA. I buy all the ferrous and nonferrous scrap for my yard, mostly from dealers and smaller scrap yards and companies, but we do get a few peddlers here or there and I work real closely with a few full-time scrappers for some bigger spot buys too. We are a bit out of the way for the general public, but I pay more than all the in-town yards for folks willing to make the drive.

    I've been in the scrap business for about a year and a half, always looking to learn so I figure these forums would be a good place to do some reading and hopefully contribute/help others along the way.

    Welcome to the forum! I always love having metal buyers on here because they can often times give us info we otherwise couldn't get. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. But, all of us will say at some point, in one way or another, take some time to read through old threads and posts. You might find the answer to your question has already been answered.     Welcome!I am located in Yakima and have been actively seeking an outlet which pays decent.(As long as it is more than Pacific or any of the other thieving local yard) Enjoy your stay.There is a lot of great info here.
