So Ya wanna be a scrapper huh?

(Please, when reading this do so with the female British narrator from some of the Monty Python movies. Thank You.)

I thought that on this post I would talk about what is considered proper forum ettiquette for new members on day 1. All of the current members here really do want people to join this forum. So it will be my attempt to give you, the newcomber, that savoir-faire needed for you to fully enjoy your time here.

    1. When signing up for the forum, your first post should be in the "Introduce Yourself" section. Your introduction should not ask any question as there are other threads dedicated to that. It should contain info related to scrap such the kind of scrapper you are- i.e.- hardcore, full-time, part-time, hobbyist, etc.

2.After your introduction to the forum you may wish to post on any number of posts available, and by all means do so. Especially if you think you can contribute to the current conversation. However, if you wish to post adds(spam), links, or foriegn languages w/o using a translation program, please refrain from doing so as it is very annoying.
Also if your post causes the current conversation to hit a wall and cause confusion, (ex: Hi, I like many musical instruments and am jubilant to point of orgasm and I want to know what instruments you like to listen too blah blah blah) don't post it.

    3. Before starting a new thread, throw up a quick search for your topic of choice and read what is already offered here on the forum. Chances are it has already been discussed by very knowlegdable members of this forum. If you still have question, then by all means ask! But remember, the more info you give us concerning the who, what, where, when, and hows of your question, the better we will be able to help you.
(Example of a bad thread starter: I live in Podunk, Earth, and am looking for cores.)
See here? There is hardly any info given what so ever.

    4. Failure to follow these guidelines will not get you terminated from the forum. It will not get you emails sent to you from the Admin(more than likey), it will not require you to cut the head off a chicken to appease the World Wide Web. What it will do is annoy others on the forum, ipso facto annoy you! Then all pleasntries become unhinged, veins pop, etc.
I guess what I'm really trying to say is that basic forum etiquette can go a long way.

Here is a good movie about etiquette for a different situation where the outcomes and effects could very well mirror our own situation in the near future.

    Thank You,
    Hypoman

    Cool

So, when are you going to make an etiquette clip about scrapper's and how they should act at the local recycler?
