This post resonates with me. I always loved finding stuff or making value out of stuff people throw away. Since I was little. Did it in high school for gas money sometimes. I am now in the work force but still like to scrap as a hobby, since my full-time job is not hand on at all (software engineer). I also like the "recycling"/"keeping things out of the landfill" aspect of it, as-well as the treasure hunting aspect. Its like a lotto ticket, you never know when youll find something great and/or hit big! Wives just dont understand lol!
I am still very small time at scrapping, but I do it more for fun/hobby than to make a serious profit (although I do make SOME profit, just not a lot, and not anywhere near enough to replace or touch my normal job income)
I also like
E-waste the best, as I am fairly knowledgable on the subject.... and since I like taking computers apart. However since I am not always able to get my hands on computers, I expanded to other stuff too.... thrown out sporting equipment and motored-yard tools (lawn mowers, weed-whackers, pressure washers, etc) seem to be PLENTIFUL in my area, and always seem to sell no matter the condition.
I prefer computers/
e-scrap, next I like resellables, and finally
scrap metal as a last resort. But when Im out looking around, I take anything I can find that fits in those categories!
Welcome!
