    Hello from Kentucky, US

    Hello,

My name is Steve and I am a very new scrapper. I'm so new I haven't even sold any scrap yet!

I pickup trash all over local wildlife management and public wooded land. I've cleaned up so many illegal dumps that I thought maybe I could scrap some of the stuff and at least buy lunch and pay for some gas.

I'm also interested in doing some e-scrapping on the side.

Picking up trash and helping the environment is a very noble cause! Good stuff!

Depending on the trash type, you may be able to scrap some of it. If you find aluminum cans, those are scrappable (around 30 cans == 1lb == $0.28 by me.... so about 100 cans == $1), or can be turned in for deposit based if you are located somewhere that does that. There is tons of other metal categories, all have different prices. Chances are, if its metal, you can make SOME money off it. Feel free to use the search bar for various items you may find to see what other people have said about them.

In relation to e-waste (which is what I do mainly), that is a whole other compartment of scrapping with its own categories and best practices. There is a whole section on it on here that can help you get started. Additionally, you probably wont find any better buyers for ewaste (both resellable and scrap) than the buyers on here. So check out the "Scrap Buyers & Sellers" section to see what some of their categories are and prices.

    Welcome!

Welcome to the forum. If your already picking it up you might as well save up some if you have the extra space. In your case its not any real extra work to make a few dollars. Another good source of metal on wooded lands is lawn chairs they take them out there and get drunk and destroy them and just leave some chairs are aluminum so make sure you use your magnet.
