    mike5ive says hi

Just joined this forum, will be on the lookout for an honest (LOL, I know good luck) circuit board refinery
My old man has owned a dump yard for over 40 years and I currently have about a half acre of computers and other assorted electronics devices stacked to about 6 feet. Paying three people to disassemble them all right now but at present I have about 1,300 pounds just from laptop circuit boards with thousands more yet to be torn apart. Next will be the desktops nonetheless I'm not looking to sell the boards I want to find a place that will smelt down the things (or whatever process) for me.
To any and all that might actually read this post I'm adding this beer story for you're (hopefully) reading enjoyment

I was coming out of the Brewery the other day when I stumbled right into that voluptuous St. Pauli Girl and she was wearing a Skirt so short you could almost see her Anheuser Busch well I had a feeling she might be my Lucky Lager so Poured up and introduced myself saying that my name was Michelob, Bud that I was a Long Neck and I had just Brewed in from the Land of Sky Blue Waters right around the Corona at San Miguel’s place on Foster street. I told her I liked her Hamm’s and asked if she would like to join me for some Grog over at Dos Equis Bar and grill where she replied that her name was Kirin but everyone calls her Pearl saying that my manners were a bit Lowenbrau and a little Grolsh as well but that I had a cute Mug so why didn’t I wait there while she went to the Techate to freshen up. Well when she Flowed back up you just know that Amstell there awaiting and of Coors Mickey and My Big Mouth I couldn’t help but again let her know what a Stout Heineken she had but she understood and so we soon Burgied out of there to the next Watering Hole where we started downing Six Packs like we were 800 Old English Dark Bavarians and by Brew 102 we were way Pabst being Blitzed so I asked if she would like to come to my place and swallow some Pasteurized Suds where she replied Lebbats the mater with going to her place so we did, only when we got there she couldn’t find her keystone but two seconds of Fermentation on that problem and I knew just what to do, I Knocked the door down falling to the ground with it when it went where she immediately jumped right on top of me demanding that I give as many Twelve Packs as I was able to give her and so before long I was pumping her keg in a frenzy till she was blowing Froth from LA to Old Milwaukee screaming its Miller time, its Miller time. And little did I know her husbands name was Miller and he was home right on time standing in back of me with Colt 45 in one hand and a Sharp Lager in the other, hell I Barley had the time to jump out a window Yeast I’d have given him a chance to take a Shot at me or Schlitz my throat

Welcome to the forum.... Honestly, you would be better off to break down your computers and sell them as scrap to escrap buyers and take the money and buy the gold outright. Good luck.

That’s a great beer story. I wish I would have came up with it. A true gem.

I know you made another post on here saying you couldn't find someone who will refine them for you, and I am just going to say again, that I do not think you will and also that I do not think you will want to.

You may be able to find somewhere that you can sell to that is a refiner, but most of the refiners are overseas where there is cheaper labor, and less government oversight/laws/restrictions. They can pay more but they usually have MASSIVE load-limit that even with your amount of stuff, probably wont be able to meet. I 100% truly and honestly think you will be best off having your guys keep breaking everything down, and send/sell to a buyer on here. If you have as much as you say you are probably looking at many many thousands of dollars.... its not like people on here are paying pennies on the dollar.... I don't think you can find much better prices than people are paying on here.

Nowhere will melt the boards for you and return the yeilding results because it just isnt practical/possible for them to do so and keep track of what was yours vs whoever else they are buying from. They buy in bulk, and run it all through the same machine

For example, say you have 2300lbs of laptop motherboards so far, that is around $10k to a buyer on here already.
And you say you still have tons more laptops.... say you have 3x more laptops, you are up to $30k just on laptop motherboards alone. If you are taking the ram and CPUs out of the laptops (which you should be, thats probably another $10k worth of escrap right there..... That isnt even touching the desktops which all will have motherboards, CPUs, ram, finger cards, powersupplies, ICW, and the metal cases. If you have the amount I am picturing in my head, you could have $100k worth of scrap there. Just send it to someone here, and then buy $100k worth of gold if precious metals are what you are really after

Lastly, they do not smelt the boards.... they use a very very complex series of grinding and chemical processes that use hazardous chemicals and that you need gov approvals in some form or another to do at a large scale. That costs money, a lot of money.

I agree with above comments - e-scrap is the way to go . Check the buyers section , there are several listed with very good payouts for e scrap
Sounds like you have a ton of value waiting to be harvested !
Remember... wherever you go... there you are
