- Any other torch burners on here?

I am a fairly new torch burner at a scrapyard. In my area we get a lot of heavy logging equipment. Bulldozers, grappleyarders, excavators , etc. Any tips for a new guy? We use oxy/propane to cut , love the job so far. Going to take a while getting used to cutting through high pressure hydraulic lines , oil tanks etc ! Gets a little hot with the flames, I've been wearing a PAPR with acid gas filters and a leather jacket and chaps
I very rarely do any torch work, usually only if on site torching is necessary for removal to take to a yard. Otherwise I just haul the big stuff as is and let the yard do it. The heat here in Vegas is so brutal already that I don't even wanna think about torch cutting for half the year lol

I also use oxy/propane for personal use. It does the trick bit I'd much rather have acetylene

I have done quit a bit of burning, using oxygen and propane mostly. Also have experience with natural gas, gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. One thread that might be helpful is:

Let me know if you have any questions, I still stop by the forum once in a while and will start cutting again this fall. I do not work for a yard although I have standing offers at many.
