Just wanted to say hello. I've been cutting metal on and off for 20 years. I started cutting regularly in the railroad industry about 10 years ago. I really picked up a lot of knowledge and had plenty of practice throughout my time with the railroad, and I felt I was doing pretty well with cutting.
Then, earlier this year, I was invited into the scrapping world. When asked if I could cut, I didn't hesitate to say yes. I didn't have a doubt in my mind that I could cut, and maybe even better than you!

That's about the time when I quickly learned that I didn't know my head from my ass about cutting for production lol. Someone could write a book about what I don't know.

In all seriousness though, I have learned quite a bit and will continue to learn each and every day I am given the opportunity to continue working in this trade. I contract with a company who works up and down the east coast, and kept busy all the time. I'm not going to name the company just yet if at all, but I'll say for sure that the owner is definitely a good guy and I hope to be asked to work with him (or hired on) for years to come.

I appreciate the information that I've read so far within this forum. I've learned a bunch of small things that combined, may just make tomorrow more productive for me than today. I look forward to the opportunity to bend some of your ears with questions I'll inevitably have. Thank you!
