Hello. Thinking about getting into this business.

Been watching youtube videos for years. SreeTips, mbmmllc, ewasteben. Times are rough out there in the markets so I'm starting to consider honest work and ewaste seems fun. And it feels like an industry with a future. You know the way our elites are obsessed with recycling.

Anyway trying to plan everything I'll need in that vain. I'm very interested in the chemistry side of it and not only thinking about pure profitability so I think I want to process all the way to pure metal product in my little shop. Would like to spend more time in the shop and less time driving around.

I may make an elaborate plan and never even pull the trigger on it, but I'm starting to make that plan now just in case I do.

    Thanks for listening.

Read the old threads for the best advise possible. Prices and markets have changed over the years. If you wan to get started then just start. You will learn as you go. At first break down the scrap as far as you can so you will learn what is in there and if its worth the effort. 73, Mike

If you want to learn the chemistry side of e-waste, recover silver, gold and platinum group metals you need the goldrefiningforum.com as these topics are prohibited on the scrap metals forum.

The problem these days is finding a steady source of recyclable materials you don't have to pay for or some that are dirt cheap. The yards where I am in Mesa Az don't take e-scrap. They consider it shred. They don't have a buyer so why accept it. For years I hauled some scrap from a nearby scratch & dent store but in the past year the place had begun charging for their scrap.
