Hey guys! I've been reading this forum for months (getting a lot of great info) so I figured I would finally introduce myself..My name is Noah from MA and I've been scrapping for a hobby for probably a year now...i started out stripping wire i would get from electricians or old broken things i would find in the trash at my regular job, and when I mentioned to my father that i was looking into getting a sawzall (after reading on here that its many people's most used tool) he gave me his old milwaukee one and i've never looked back!
I scrap things that i find on the side of the road or get from friends/family/the family business...when i bring in a load,
i put the money towards new tools to help me scrap more things - this has worked very well for me cuz when i encounter something i can't process, i buy a new tool to use with money i got from the hobby..theres no pressure to make the tool pay for itself - its a self-feeding hobby which is very fun! get metal, get money, get tools (to get more metal)
I just recently got engaged to my girlfriend of 2 years, and now that i have a couple grinders, portable bandsaw, trailer, and even a propane/oxy torch :-) i'm ready to scrap it up to get money for a wedding (just need a couple more things like a superwinch and a hand truck). I've always bought quality tools like milwaukee and makita, smith torch etc so they will last me years and years so someday every load can be nice additional income (most businesses take years before they turn a real profit anyway, right?)
I look forward to posting on here and hopefully helping other people since this forum has helped me so much....anyways, back to cutting up some aluminum patio furniture lol
