New to Board and Scrapping

Hi, I'm new to this board and scrapping. I've been spending time going through the posts and there is a lot of info! I'm looking forward to learning and contributing. I've been underemployed and now I'm unemployed. I was recently working at a used car lot with a scrap yard down the street. All day long I would see a stream of trucks and trailers loaded with scrap passing by. I figured there must be some type of money in this and I like taking things apart and getting dirty. I'm from Northern NJ. John
