    Hi there, from upstate NY!

    Hi everyone!

Kinda fell into this scrapping thing, but I'm loving it. I guess I've always been an "outside the box" kinda girl! Have a friend I work with, and we split everything 50/50.

We do a little of everything.....large appliances, E-scrap, etc. We tear everything down as much as we possibly can.

My friend has been doing this for 20+ years......I am a newbie, but I'm a pretty bright cookie and I learn fast. I'm actually a photographer, and I own my own photography business......but they don't call us starving artists for nothing! I supplement my income nicely with this, and sometimes a little modelling work for my fellow photographers.

I painted my toolbox pink, and I wear pink camo workgloves. I'm pretty much the only girl in town who scraps.

Anyway, this forum is great, and I've learned a lot just reading everyone's experiences on here. Glad to be a part of it, and to get to know ya'll

Found one I could have bought in the stores for $109...........given my thrifty nature & love of all things second-hand, I couldn't make myself shell out the cash. Wound up doing a basement cleanout job the next week......there was a perfectly lovely red metal toolbox in the lot......

....never underestimate a girl with a little creativity, and a can of hot pink rustoleum!

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

That's how I grew up...and I like regular camo too, not just the pink kind. My Dad taught me how to change my own tire, to use power tools, how to work on electric.....etc. I never let myself be categorized. I remember one Christmas, when I was 8, confusing Santa by asking for a Princess Wedding Barbie(can't remember the actual name) and a swiss army knife. My best friend growing up described me as the kinda girl who can work on your car, but you can still take to prom.......

I like dressing up, I like baking & doing crafts, I like tools & heaving large appliances off the back of trucks.............. I just don't like limitations!

lol.....I think a pink house might be a little much, but I like your wife already! Gotta tell ya, having pink tools is a VERY effective way of keeping them from coming up missing.......... For some reason, none of the guys ever ask to borrow my pink hammer? LOL
