    Down In So.ILL

Hello scrap metal forum, New here and all that nonsense lol. I have read a great deal in these forums over the past few days, and first off I will say thank you all for the input. It has already given me hope of actually bringing in money where it was hard to find lately.
That being said, I will post one question here that may help me get started. I haven't seen this answered anywhere yet, so here it goes...........whats the difference between number 1 and number 2 copper? (kidding)
Really though, I'm just beginning my scrapping adventure and would appreciate a few pointers on approaching people. I assume a simple smile and a "can I have that metal out there?" would probably not be the best approach in these matters. Has anyone got an opinion on say little things like, a professional appearance maybe? I also see much about business cards, but I gather that might be a little much just getting started. I get the where part of this, but its the how should one go about it that gets me.

If your going to talk to people, friends, family, local business you frequent, just hand them a card to remember you by when your gone. When they take it out of their pocket, they might remember that clutter in the backyard, basement or garage.

I am a newbie too. In response to cooper question Google is my best friend My 2nd best friend, actually right here on the forum, is the search feature located in the top right corner of each page.

A simple smile and a "can I have that metal out there?" works for me. I am on day two and have made quite a bit of change. w00t!

For the cards, again, Google is my best friend There are tons of free options out there...you can even print some pretty dag gum nice ones on your own printer rather inexpensively, IF you can follow directions. Good luck!
