    "Scrapper" from Kentucky

    Hi,
I just recently joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself and thank you all in advance for any help you all may be in the future. I started "scrapping" in April of this year after taking some aluminum wheels to the the yard instead for pitching them in the trash and was instantly bitten by the metal bug. I am working out of full size panel van and a 16ft trailer. I have taken on one big project (40 ton water drilling platform) in which I had to lease some big equipment, but mostly I target farms around my area looking for anything to recycle. Year to date I have done better than my last two years of full time employment combined, so I hope I continue to do as well and the metal doesn't run out. Good luck to everyone and thanks again for all the help and information.

Welcome, Bourbonbales, from a scrapper in the northern part of your home state. That is so interesting to hear that you get your scrap from farms, it never occurred to me to ask farmers if they had scrap - thanks for the great idea.

I'll bet just about every farm has their own little gully for throwing scrap down.
