ive been watching this site since about august. lumberjacking and sawmill operation was my hobby before i started scrapping, i have a full time job 12hrs a day for 3 days so i have monday thru thursday to keep myself occupied. i had a tree job back in july or august after we were done the guy had a rent house he wanted tore down we didnt have any work lined up so i said what the heck. just for kicks i took four sticks of copper tothe local scrap yard and got over $60 i was estatic. somebody stopped by to pick up the window unit the day before and at the time i had no idea what i was giving them. anyway im sure i wasted alot that week but we got over $300 and ive only cut one tree since and only made a few boards. we get two to three calls a day for washers dryers cans cars heck everything. our first big score was about a 45min drive and i was skeptical. we ended up paying a guy $80 to clean up his yard i was thinking to myself while i was sacking up cans i had hit a new low......until i cashed out that night 75 in cans i remember for sure plus the dude had 8 car batteries two lawnmowers a dryer, brass fittings from old showers, and alot of solid copper wiring and more steel than you could imagine to us anyway. in all we cashed out 540 and figured we cleared over 400 in a day and a half and two trips, after this we have been roling. 79 ford thunderbird, 67 ford 100, 68 dodge 500 w dump bed, 94 camry, 89 corolla, 88 dodge omni and numerous appliances and scrap metal. in my yard right now a 93 explorer and a 94 duster and 4 to 5 trailer loads of scrap to process and haul away. tomorrow i have 3 pickups the first is just a washer or dryer cant really remember, the 2nd is a shed clean out, and the third is a 94 buick. ive been learning from you guys all along reading your forum and want to thank you for all your input and valuable information. i have to say we pay for everything not alot but we do pay. last week we got a whole trailer load with 2 ac units on it and the lady said thanks and expected us to leave i handed her a 20 and you woulda thought i just changed her flat tire in the middle of the night, turns out she remodels houses and has a load once a month now we will be getting all her calls as far as tools we use all the pliers wrenches grinders and saws u guys use but i have one tool we value more than any other that i havnt seen a post on that you guys would appreciate more that u know. the 2stroke concrete saws (stihl husky makita all make them ours is the wacker brand) you can put a 14in chop saw blade on them and cut out the front end of a car in about 30 seconds easy access to all the ac stuff radiators alternators and we all know how tight those little front wheel drive cars are and this really opens it up so you can work. i want to thank all you guys again for all your help and we would have had probably half the calls and half the money had it not been for you guys. thanks very much cory couch

my saw kicks butt and i live in jonesboro ar thanks guys for your comments, i posted on the tools section a moment ago on a debate between grinders and sawsalls about my concrete saw. we sawed up a doublewide house trailer frame that had burnt down using only 3 blades and a gallon of gas or the cost of $20 loaded and hauled away in one day it was our 2nd job we had
