Glad to have found this Forum

Hello to all greetings and salutations from Illinois. I am relatively new to electronic scrap but very determined to learn the ropes. I am not however new to the world of scrapping. Being a restaurant manager for some ten years, I spent many of nights with a cold beer stripping stainless, copper and aluminum from obsolete pieces of equipment. A little bit older now and have an interest in e-scrap, so if any of you veterans have any advice for the newbie. I am all ears. I no longer work in the restaurants and now currently work as a Numismatist. So if you have any coin or currency related questions feel free to ask. I deal with precious metals all day long so gold recovery from e-scrap definitely makes sense to me... Thanks again for reading and please feel free to network with me whether your into e-scrap or not.

    Welcome to the forum!

I was unsure what a Numismatist was, at first I thought perhaps currency exchange rates guy but I looked it up.

How did you get started collecting coin? I know a guy we all call 2 dollar Ron. He goes and buys stacks of 2 dollar bills to find what I am unsure of!
We just thought he used the 2 dollar bills to tip the strippers, he always comes in the local pub with one or two. More power to the old guy!

Welcome!!! I have a coin or token maybe I will post a picture. I found it in the trash. Also, I'm not a huge escrapper, but I know that older cpu's, motherboards, memory chips have gold plate in them. I usually just save my cpus, memory cards, hard drives, memory chips and sell them by pound when I get enough of them. I hope you master it by the time you are done with this forum! Thanks for joining!

I started collecting when I was 11 years old now I'm 35 soon to he 36. My infatuation with coins started by cleaning out my grandmother's house and finding a bunch of Morgan Dollars. The rest is history. 2 dollar bills work great at the race track and I'm sure strippers love them also. As far as having any value there is really none.. At least the old Guy could at least pay his bartab...

In the world if coins and currency a picture is definitely worth a thousand words. Send any pictures that you want to my email address krimic26@Gmail.com and I will do my best to identify what you have. Also with a picture I can use resources at work to help identify what you have just in case it is that one obscure piece. Thanks for the warm welcome..

Not the quantity its the quality find 1916d mercury dime or a 1909s vdb wheat cent in there and you wont be rich but you'll definitely be a little closer than you were before you started. LOL
