Novice Scrapper looking get and give some good tips!

Hello everyone here, I have found a lot of information on this forum and have finally decided to join. I live around the San Antonio, TX area. I have just started scrapping and for now it is just something I want to do as added income. I have a full time job, so its kind of a hobby with benefits. But I need some good tips to make the most of it. I have some knowledge and experience but I know there is so much more out there. Please feel free to message me and ask me any question or give me some advice. Thanks.

Welcome Southtexman! Im in San Antonio also. This site offers so much information. I try reading the new threads daily. The members are the best " bar none", and willing to share there knowledge to other members who are eager to learn. By the way, what yard's do you like selling to in San Antonio?

So far I have only been to Newells. I have been wanting to try Ashley's and River City Steel. Which one do you recommend? I know River City is also owned by Newells, so don't know if the prices are the same.

Newells for iron. Great Northwest recycling for copper. Call around first for aluminum. Heavy loads, Monterrey, they use machines to unload you, but I get quite a few flat tires there. Never a flat at Newells!! maybe well run into each other sometime @ Newells. Good luck.
