I'm guilty of not doing an intro before starting to responde/post in various threads. Sorry about that....
Anyways - I'm a part time scrapper that got into it in order to max the profits from my storage auction purchases. Many times I find busted TVs, appliances, and the like in units buried under trash. Some units I would make money, others were a lost or just break even. So I started to look for other ways to max my profits. That lead me to do a search on scrapping. Found one forum and then this one. Started to read and got hooked.
So now I keep an eye out for
scrap metal anywhere I go. Have done a few dumpster dives to pull old computers I've seen. Gaining a better knowledge of what is what type of scrap and how much. Which helps me size up "junk" units that are worth more then I first thought. Also have learned how much money is tossed into the landfill each day.
Learned alot on these boards and will keep learning and contribute as I can.
