    Storage Auction Scrapper

I'm guilty of not doing an intro before starting to responde/post in various threads. Sorry about that....

Anyways - I'm a part time scrapper that got into it in order to max the profits from my storage auction purchases. Many times I find busted TVs, appliances, and the like in units buried under trash. Some units I would make money, others were a lost or just break even. So I started to look for other ways to max my profits. That lead me to do a search on scrapping. Found one forum and then this one. Started to read and got hooked.

So now I keep an eye out for scrap metal anywhere I go. Have done a few dumpster dives to pull old computers I've seen. Gaining a better knowledge of what is what type of scrap and how much. Which helps me size up "junk" units that are worth more then I first thought. Also have learned how much money is tossed into the landfill each day.

Learned alot on these boards and will keep learning and contribute as I can.

I've only purchaed 16 units. Best find so far (which wasn't even a find since was in plain view) was a china cabinet and solid oak dinning room table that my mother fell in love with. No guns, jewelry, or gold bars for me.

I've been in this business for 3 years and my best find is a white gold necklace = 3500, it was the best discovery I've ever found, and I thought about keeping it but really needed the money, because this business is so god dang hard! But, if you guys need any help check out storagetreasures.com you'd really enjoy how much you can find, etc.

I secondly Brittany's motion on the site she listed. As everyone knows, I posted the same link about 2 or 3 months back.

It is by far the BEST source to find local or even long distance storage auctions in your area.

I checked out the suggested site and found some auctions near by so I will go check one out tomorrow that is just up the road from me.

I just wonder how many yahoos yelling YUUUP will be there.

Question to those that do the auctions, do you need to sign up or register to attend or just show up with a fist full of cash?

Auctions I've been to, auctioneer usually gives someone the look if they start bidding like that, seems everyone hates Dave and hate folks that act like him even more. Have to register to bid here and some locations everyone has to register to even be on the property. Some have started to not allow minors which is fine by me...older kids(teenagers) are fine but people show up with 3 small kids in tow and think we have the time for all of them to look.

That went to the wayside long ago!

Well that is where I personally got the link from. I didn't know that owned the site to find storage auctions too though. Nice.

Also, regardless of who owns it and runs it, still the BEST one I have found yet!
