Greetings I have been following the
Scrap Metal Forum for some time now. I have really enjoyed reading the conversations and often the entertaining banter. Just when you think you have a handle on something you find a community like this and it reminds you of how much you can learn from others.
About me:
I have had scrap in my blood for all thirty something years of my life. My father owned and operated a Central Nebraska Scrapyard (mainly Auto salvage and Heavy Machinery). Growing up working with him tearing down cars and tractors and attending what must have been a thousand auctions I learned the ropes of the salvage industry. After college (financed by scrap metal of course) I moved back to Nebraska and continued working with my father on the side.
I am a telecom/IT engineer as my "regular" job and since dad has now retired It seems I have two regular jobs. This and the scrap yard. I love the scrap industry and would not ever want to give that up.
I have really enjoyed all the knowledge that is on this forum especially the
e-scrap portion. Since my salvage history has always been one of strictly ferrous with the occasional CU or AL load the e-scrap was always a mystery. Since my chosen career involves a lot of wreck-out this has allowed me to mesh the two.
Thanks much for having me
Regards, KrazyJ
