New scrapper from the Pacific NW

Hi all, I'm perpetualmadness but you can call me Patrick. I've been enjoying some of the insight this forum offers on the world of scrapping, and I'd like to thank the members that make this site a valuable resource of information. I'm new to scrap metal, and until recently I never gave a second thought on how much valuable and reusable material gets tossed out everyday. I finally decided to put theory into practice and pulled a few things for their high grade boards, gold plated pins, and copper. I quickly realized that it wont be easy to take this from a hobby and turn it into a part-time venture. I've got a lot to learn! Right now I'm just trying to find my niche in the world of recycling.

I'm over in Mason Co. It is snowing like crazy, got around 7" this morning! took apart two old vacuums today since I'm practically snowed in. I think the motors might have gold-plated contacts where power is supplied to the brushes. Can anyone with knowledge of vacuum motors tell me if some do contain gold plated contacts?

Most cheaper contacts are just brass, You might want to print up some cheap business cards to hand out to family/friends and anytime you network with people. Get one of those cheap Avery card kits at Walmart in the office section. Here is some of my home-made ones. Don't have my new ones uploaded yet.
