Husband and wife team in Tennessee

Hi to all!
We signed up to the forum a few days ago and have been reading and taking lots of notes. Great, great info here!

We're new to "official" scrapping but not to the whole idea of buying and reselling and salvaging in general. Been doing that on the side thru local auctions, selling wood, ebay, etc. for a while.



Looking to work up a second income (main business is painting contractor--20 years) to then replace the current one. Man, the trades have been brutal for the last several years!

Hope to be able contribute something useful soon!

Now the youngest (17) helps his dad every day.

I just edited this post since I was thinking about how stupidly I put my thoughts. Really didn't mean it the way it came out.
There are so many young adults and teens who are incredibly intelligent, innovative and hard-working go-getters.
But it seems that many of my generation as parents have fallen down on their job, imho, by not helping their kids grow up
to be what they could be. And that is very unfortunate, even if unintended, since it's these young ones who end up short-changed.

So, definite kudos to all, no matter what age, who work hard, think for themselves, and get out there and DO stuff!
Hope this makes up for my very poor choice of words before.

I blame this generation of kids on the BIG BROTHER government attitude. When your child can pick up the phone call child protective services and claim your abusing them there is a problem. When I was a kid if I would have said that to my dad he would have beat me harder then handed me the phone. When the people in government can tell you how you should raise your child you are no longer in control. I for one spank my kids when they need it. They dont like my rules they can go live in a foster home My parents are foster parents so my kids have seen the kids that come from those situations.
