    New guy from FL

Hey everyone I've only been scrapping about 8 months and it is not a huge source of $$ for me however I know a good bit about it and have browsing this site the entire time. I owe credit to learning a good bit from this site. I feel kind of guilty for not registering and contributing sooner and another bad experience at one of my local scrap yards finally made me register and hopefully as I learn more I can contribute more.

Nice to meet everyone. Injunjoe I'm from Orange county and I have a few honey holes like a dumpster near work that gets checked by 3 other scrappers, and my neighborhood route which has 10 scrappers but it gets insane when college kids move out in summer.

I don't specialize in anything particular I'm a harvester so no matter what I got it gets taken down as far as I possibly can. I used to love tv's because no one knew about them as scrap they would just cut the cord and leave them. I would find at least 5/wk. I think enough people saw them on my curb and figured it out now I hardly find any. The garbage men take as many as I got I help load the truck. I got a lil word of mouth going that is spreading I got a big computer lead in orlando over 100 towers and monitors I hope comes through but I keep to myself so it takes others poking in my business for me to network........ I do it as a hobby and way to save for a Farm I one day want to own. I'm young so most the people my age aren't worried about scrapping so they give me scrap also and trash nights/mornings I canvas the east side. I'm an investor in many things and scrap to me is $$ at the curb, then it's only about working hard which I also enjoy.

I specialize in e scrap now, Been going to ucf for about 7-8 years now when i get bored enough, my degree is more useful for toilet paper. I do the trash run routes from Curry ford to University from 436 to 434 Im guessing that its probably me working your area grabbing the tvs that can fit into a honda civic. i dont leave much out there. You back in Bonneville? since bithlo is closer to you. I try to stay off other forum scrappers home neighborhoods around here. there's more then enough to share.

Advise for scrapping on the east side hmmmmm move fast cause theres always another 5 scrappers right behind you, If you see that craigslist add you better get on it within a hour, find a good yard and get them to like you, talk to the people at the scrap yard you win brownie points. learn spanish.

Ah your saving up for a Farm as well its a good goal to work for, soon as i get the truck im putting it all away for that dream.

If you ever need a hand with breaking stuff down or moving stuff feel free to call me. Im always willing to help. Theres also wavedcrazed thats in our local area to but hes on this side to do work and comes out of longwood area.

Being young definitely gives you a huge perk around here, most people rather see you picking through trash to get money then sitting on ur ass playing xbox and saying the economy sucks. but hey 24's a good enogh age to go and figure out being ur own boss is so much better even if u didnt make as much in a day as you would in a 9 to 5.
