Good morning from the copper newbie!

Our company sells and services a variety of equipment and I am in the process of trying to learn as much as I can about wire granulators and the copper recycling business. It looks like there's a lot of knowledge out here so I'm excited about getting started. Happy Scrapping!

Welcome to the forum. Please tell us more about your recycling. Is it part of the equipment company you spoke of or is this something you are doing on your own?

I have done some looking into the granulator thing and like most industries there's alot more than what you see in a video. Be careful.

I recommend reading a lot of the old threads to start it will bring you up to speed quickly and you will absorb more later. Mike.

Thanks for the advice Miked. The company I work for is the North American distributor of MG Wire Granulators and I've spent the last few weeks visiting scrap yards and checking in on some of our customers that have recently purchased these machines. During this process, I've received conflicting information on what is considered a #1 chop versus #2, what mill tolerances are, etc.. I'm sure mills have different standards but I'm trying to learn more about these things and about all different wire to help customers and also to better understand the business myself. I'm spending whatever time I can find reading these threads and they are packed full of information!

Here would be the man to contact as he is our resident expert. He runs choppers in his business so he might even be a customer of yours. There is a phone # listed as well as you could PM him (private message). Do that off his profile page.
