The Search Is Over. I'm Home Now

Hello. My name is Chris, and I am a scrapoholic. **** proud of it. Thank you all for your contributions to my new absolute favorite website.
My life long quest for all things metalic began when I was 5. Aluminum cans, The gateway metal. By the time I turned 8 I was already strung out on copper. My father was a Superintendent for a heavy commercial construction company. He is the 7 days/wk. type despite the 40hr. salary. Every Saturday while he was catching up on paper work, I was searching the site with a trash bag, and bucket. Oh those were the days. 1"-1 1/2" copper pipe cut offs a foot long or more like laying around discarded like cigarette butts. 90 cents/lb. during the summer months. When I was 14 I stripped 1900lbs. of the thick(I believe its called 500) copper cable by hand in 4hrs. and w/ 1 utility knife blade. Not bragging, just giving an example of how fun it was, and still is for me.
Too late to make my long story short, but I'll try anyway. When I became a Supt. for the same company my son was just starting to walk so I still got to tote the bag, and bucket.
Due to the slow down in construction I got laid off almost two years ago. Now scrap helps to pay the bills. For many of us. I did ok with the silver, and gold hike over the past year, but that action kind died out recently. I rode it all the way up, then hit rock bottom. Yep, now even steel gets me off. My son too.
Sorry for typing your ears off, but I'm stoked about finding this highly informative site. This gathering of like minded individuals finally proves that I am not a freak. Well maybe I am. Do any of you consider two roadside aluminum cans a worthy enough cluster to pull the car over for? What if one of those cans is a tallboy? I do, and if I cant pull over on time, I think about those cans for another block or two.
Thanks again. Great site with so much for me to learn.
