    Hello

Hello, been lurking here awhile and figured that I should register and join the fun I found this place while looking for ways to easier dismantle things either for scrap or to get at the parts of them I want. I love to tinker and fix things and try my best to put things back into use or at least strip the useful parts off it before scrapping it. I am a self employed home improvement contractor and I also sell at a local flea market.

Welcome to the forum. What kinds of things are you scrapping now?

Little bit of everything mostly what I can not fix or will not work into one of my projects. I pick up almost anything I see that I think is useful. The stuff that is not is broken down the best I can and as small as I can. I have everything from riding lawnmowers to electronics waiting to be gone over.

How's the flea market working out for you? I've been considering flea market selling but can't make myself sit there all day hoping someone will want to buy my stuff. In my view it is all about quick turnover.

One thing I have considered but not yet tried is taking the items I have to someone who sells like items at a table and seeing what they will offer me for them. I.e. I have several fishing poles and reels and have no idea what they are worth.

I do pretty good at the flea market, I sell a lot of stuff I get at estate and tag sales but also a far share of dumpster diving and side of the road finds. I like quick turn over too but the wait can be worth it. As for pricing the internet is great look stuff up on ebay to get an idea but only look at stuff with bids on it buy it now is over priced normally.
