I am new here and very new at this whole thing. So far I have been scrapping aluminum cans and have not been sure what else I can make money on. This seems like a good way to learn. I am from Ohio and would like any information you can provide.

There is value in a lot of things. It's up to you to find it. Welcome, there is plenty of information on here to get you started.
Basically, anything metal has value. From there, it's a matter of separating into types and education. Then there is computer and other electronic scrap.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
Welcome..... I was in your position less than one month ago. The best advice I can give you is to read everything you can on this forum. It is loaded with info and very innovative and knowledgable people.

Hiya bro!
I started with cans too. Then I also started collecting tinfoil and steel cans and any bits of metal you find by the side of the road. It's mostly steel people sling, nuts and bolts and bits of cars, so grab some large barrels or builders bags and start collecting. Keep all bits of wire that get thrown aside, and if any of your appliances break, cut em open and see what's inside.
Always carry a magnet!
Good luck
