    Cool Hello Everyone, Bryzerman here

I ran across this site surfing looking to find out what kind of wire was in a tv after watching a youtube video of someone scrapping out a TV. I live in Detroit burbs. Retired Teamster, and drummer. Not looking to live on it, but when walking dog around neighborhood I always see somebody throwing out tv's, monitors, etc. I figure I may as well take them and take the copper and aluminum. Did first TV yesterday. Just gonna keep a couple of garbage cans in garage 1 for copper and 1 for aluminum. Maybe pay for Superbowl party every year, if I get enough. I don't know prices for scrap, but anything is better than nothing. No get rich quick thinking, just something to do. Wish I would have thought about it earlier, between me and a neighbor we threw out at least 5 27" or above TVs since the summer. (can't even get $20 for 1 that works on craigslist)

Welcome to the forum Brian. If you are not familar with the dangerous electrical charge that tv's contain do some reading here and look at youtube videos for proper way so discharging the tv's. Disposal of the tubes and the plastic seems to be the major problem with recycing tv's. Many threads concerning the recycling of tv's so all your questions have been answered.

Lots of free information on this forum all you have to do is read the old threads. Best of luck, Mike.
