    FNG - Hey

Interesting site... I dabble in autos and have a few sets of old aluminum slotted mags that will go to the recycler (he likes that name) on Sat. I will be taking down some old BIG satelite dishes too.

    Like this?

I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""

I guess being the new guy, I can't relate to you more experienced ones. No, 12' diameter is big to me. Happy to get it out of the yard though.

12' is a decent sized dish. Be sure to check the different pieces with a magnet to see if there is any non-ferrous metal. On a dish that size there might also be a motor and also some wire that probably has a single strand of copper wire in the centre of it. Take your time, learn as you go along and stay safe when working at height.

Then come back and post some pictures, because we all love to see people's projects and how they progress with them.

Welcome to the forum. First tool to get is a magnet. Please read a lot of the old threads, there is much to learn from them, Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked

Thanks! I understand about the magnet. I'm located out in the woods, between Gainesville & Lake City. Reading a bunch now, lots to learn to do things correctly. Not too much to report. I will be taking some old pieces (old/low performance mopar heads & some golfcart batteries, etc) to the scrapyard on Sat.

49, have you tried selling the slotted mags, im sure you could get more than scrap value for them if they are in decent shape.
Do you know what sizes you have and what vehicle they fit.
