My name is Randy. I am from Central NY near Syracuse. I own a small computer repair shop. A couple of months ago, a large recycler called and asked if I would take ewaste and they would pick it up. Since I had about 30 junk PC's, I thought it sounded like a good idea. I could get rid of them without going anywhere and it might get more customers through the door.
Then I started wondering how they were making money and did a little research. I was shocked to find out that I just tossed out several hundred dollars worth of ewaste. I guess I can consider that the cost of education. Without that call from them, I would not have even considered selling scrap.
I have been reading for a few weeks now. The more I read, the more I find how much more there is to learn. I have now started to advertise my recycling service in our local newspapers. This ads a whole new dimention to my business.
