Been lurking here for the last day or so, found it's an awesome place and decided to sign up.

I work for an IT managed services firm in the Philly area and my boss has recently got me all pumped up over scrapping old computers. We've been coming across and collecting tons of old IT equipment (desktops, servers, switches, displays, etc) from our clients and it got us searching on ways to make money off the scrap, which inevitably lead me to this place.

So for the last month or so in my spare time I've been breaking down mostly just the desktops and servers and separating out the parts.

I got all interested in scrapping when I was living up in NH. I would occasionally help our cabling guys with jobs, and they were all about ripping out the old twisted pair and saving it for trips down to the scrap yards in Chelsea Mass. Never would have guessed you could get around $1.25/lb for the stuff. Ever since then, I've been saving all my scrap cable but didn't realize dead computers could be scrapped out also.

I look back at all the dead ones I either tossed or used for target practice and kick myself for it.

Anywho, glad to be here!
