I have dumpster dived for years before I recently got into scrapping.
Found a gateway computer that was 6 months old (per the receipt in the dumpster apparently someone got evicted in my appartment complex) Kept if for 3-4 years and sold it for $80 a few months before win 98 was retired. Also found a sega that I kept and sold on
ebay for $35 a few years later.
I used to work 2nd shift in an office complex. At night I used to check a couple of the trashcans and once found a dictation machine. Ebayed it for $65
Recently in my quest for metal found a saxophone. Ebayed it for $90 .... buyer was in Australia and it cost near $100 to ship it.
So yes if you keep your eye open you can and will find items that can be ebayed or sold for a profit. Thats the fun part of scrapping. My only problem now is that I am not so quick to jump in dumpsters anymore.
