Saw this was an older thread, and it was brought back up. Don't know much about any of what is going on, but there is an EnerSys plant in a neighboring town (richmond ky) that was excide for years and all of a sudden it changed to enersys. Wondering if that has anything to do with all that? Just throwing that out there for someone.....

that's kind of complicated, Exide sold one of its product lines to Yuasa which in turn sold it to Enersys. With it came the Exide name for certain lines. Recently a judge awarded the name back to Exide so Enersys had to take it off those specific product lines. I believe that plant was Enersys all along, just had the Exide name on those products and the building.

As for Exide, the company is still in the hole but anybody who bought stock at .15 / share is in pretty good shape!

Ok thank u volvo. I really haven't kept up with it. I used to work for a company that services, installs machines, presses, mills, lathes, any CNC machining. I traveled coast to coast programming those machines, either new installs or service. Basically I imputed the program to tell the computer to tell the machine, press, welder etc what to do. I was in that plant many times, (several of which I had to wear a full hazmat suit). Getting off subject...ne ways I used to keep up with that stuff. In 2006 I had a car wreck which caused me to be disabled. Since then I fail to keep up with that stuff anymore. Maybe I should though!!!
But anyways, thanx for the info

Having spent the past decade working in the battery industry we have watched Exides market share erode. JCI has been filling in the gaps immensely due to their sheer capacity but smaller manufacturers have been filling in the gaps as well. They just closed a smelter in Reading, PA 6 months ago or so and layed off more people. I think they will eventually fizzle and see JCI and East Penn pick up their automotive business., like we have watched over the past few years. Enersys is more known for their industrial batteries and Yuassa for their small engine so I do not see them becoming major players down the road. Anybody have any other input, I'd love to hear.

Exide still owe me for a semi load of batteries I sold to them . Filed all the paper work . Waiting for the bankruptcy court to send me a check one day . Not holding my breath . Was close to a 20 years of doing business with them . I now ship to another company . Bankruptcy is just a legal way to steal from you . They knew when they pick up my batteries they were not going to pay for them .

My type of thread. I'm wicked tired. Awesome
Info you guys are stepping up and real players are coming out to talk.

I'm a battery lover. I'd marry and take a battery on honeymoon with me. I'd buy her gold and make
Out with her pretty lips all day long while pinching her post and neg posts. Like tatas.

Omg I love batts. You guys will see. My wife will tell you. I hug my battery contracts at nite and tuck them
Into bed. My dream is every one in the world buying my Stillwater like new battery and keep
Jci east pen and ex scratching their head where are all our cores. Down at Stillwater. Lol.

Btw I lve traction battery back up and sli. I'm falling asleep and I hope I dream of driving to the desert where our military left 3 million ounds of batterie out there to just be taken for free. That's true I have the gps location. Anyone want to figure out how to move 69 trailer loads of free batts. We just have move them 2000 miles and carry some ar15!

U know that ak shoots better all
Full of sand. First one there and back wins. That's what I'm dreaming off I hope
    Tonite.

My wife just got jealous my empty group 47 case I just tucked in on the other side of me.

    Nite guys.
