I've been contemplating talking about this subject for awhile now mainly for what the reaction will be and what's thought of me afterwards. I've put alot of thought into what I'm about to discuss and don't expect anyone to take anything lightly. I would like to propose a partnership with anyone who accepts it. I understand partnerships haven't worked out for alot of people on here but all I ask is to be given a chance. Back a few weeks ago when the EPA contacted me, I did some research(which lead to finding NuLife Glass), then did more research. My research found that I was over my head before I even started and that a 3-person team can do some things but can't service a community the size of Liverpool properly, thus prompting this proposal. I propose to anyone that helps Rycon Dismantling get up and running and get a foothold on
E-Scrap Dismantling, we'll take any/all CRT tubes free of charge(you'd still have to ship em but there wouldn't be any extra charges and if everyone used Gorvin to ship the tubes, shipping wouldn't be that bad). We could also set up that any metal that comes this way, we'd go halves on.
Right now to get up and running it would take a box truck, a building permit, the EPA Registration, HVAC Retrieval Equipment, and that building I linked in my "Discussion" thread. The EPA Registration I found out doubles as a Occupational License for those setting up as a recycling center. I would need a building permit to do some work to the building(like removing the dry dock door and building an office/parts center. The building would also work as overflow storage for any partner that needed it. Even though Rycon Dismantling is an E-Scrap Dismantling outfit, we take appliances and refrigerators/window a/cs, central a/cs, and anything else that has coolent piping needs to be havac'd properly.
I believe something like this could work with my current affiliations with Ben Weitsman/Upstate Shredding and NuLife Glass. Nothing would change company wise, but we would be refereed as partners to keep the circle going. I know some states have programs that take care of CRT tubes but with more and more companies being fined out the nose for improper storage or exporting, I don't feel comfortable unless the tubes go to NuLife Glass. I expect everyone who reads this to take a moment and think about what I'm offering/trying to offer/trying to do seriously before saying yay or nay. If the outlook is still the same in that no one wants to partner, that's fine. It would just mean it would take longer to get all the necessary paperwork in order, get a box van, and would operate in my backyard requiring more building permits for the additions of a fence and an external building. I'm also open to what would make a partnership 100%.
Here's to a healthy business partnership,
Matthew Vacanti c/o Rycon Dismantling
