    Ferrous Scrap Purchase (Weight Franchise)

Hi all Just wondering during ferrous scrap purchase, why is the weight franchise is always 0.5% against bill of lading? Any reasons or references on weight franchise of 0.5%?

Are you referring to a hedge against the purchase / sale weight (or price) being different than what they anticipated?
