Atlanta is an interesting market. There are buyers paying basically what I pay, but not like some of the members here on the forum who are dealing directly with refineries. I've looked, and maybe they just know how to hide really well
Its actually surprising considering the size of the city. No offense to buyers here, but it sure would save me a ton of time in packing and $$ with shipping to have someone local to sell to that paid decent.
for several years I accumulated a fairly large pile of motherboards that nobody wanted. The dump didn't want em, the scrap yard checked tower cases to make sure no boards were there etc. I searched high and low for a better way to just dispose of these boards, and by today's standards they would make people drool. Prior to moving I was getting rather desperate and contacted a computer recycler in town, who said he'd take them(for free). I didn't much have a choice at the time so I took them down there.
While me and a worker there on the dock were loading the boards from my truck into gaylords, the worker told me I could have sold them to a place in Atlanta for like $1.50 lb. Even at that rate it would have been beneficial to have made the trip, but I was on other tangents then.
It may have been a refiner, but I'd expect they're still around there
