    Need information about electronics scrapping

    Hi there,

I am totally new in this.
As I have some knowledge about computers I started to get interested in the gold parts of computers.

So I was wondering what most people on this forum do... Do they collect all the gold plated items, like gold fingers of the cards and RAMs?
    How about other metals?
What else do you recycle from computers?

I am collecting all the gold fingers right now and I will process them myself with chemicals later if I have a box full of them.

    Thanks in advance!

Everything gets recycled, right down to the case. As has already been said, the information is all here, you'll just need to read through the electronics recycling posts, they're fairly easy to find from the main page.
Refining your own isn't much discussed here, there are other forums for that
Anyway, welcome to SMF and good luck

I take out only the non-plated items.

I can't spend gold at the store for food, or pay my bills with it, so I just stick to easy stuff inside the computers.

I also have some nice ocean front property for sale in Arizona.

Start here with the reading then if you have questions, ask.

Also a new refiner trying to get the gold will lose over 50% of it in the process, until the process has been refined. Leave it to the pro's and just get the good money from selling to one of our buyers.

It must be a big box if you are planning to make anything after paying for all the chemicals to refine and hospital bills when you make a mistake, but I guess you have two eyes, lungs, hands, ect.. in case one gets damaged..................no big deal.

What they are saying is the education and answers are all right here and FREE. Spend a few days and read.

Oh and doing the gold thing yourself....seriously a bad idea. If you don't have the proper equip and the proper EXPERIENCE then that is a disaster waiting to happen to you or your property. That stuff is not to be messed with. Let the people that do it for a living do it and give them a small cut (ie this is what toll refining is).

Years later, Collision wandered out of the twilight zone and desperately tried to make up for lost time. The more he tried the more it put a strain on the space time continuum until eventually he was rocketed back into the twilight zone....... Never to be heard from again.

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.
