    Keyboards, pay for em?

So i saw a rubbermaid bin filled with keyboards at the goodwill store, but they were asking 2 bucks each... I know keyboards have been covered in the forums, but Im wondering if it would be worth making an offer to buy the whole bin. How much would any of you offer for each keyboard, or would it be worth any offer?

Unless there older "clicky" keyboards I would not buy. Even if you got for a quarter each and scrapped it would not pay very well.

The wire goes as low grade. Unless there are some ergonomic ones or the clicky one like bejak said I wouldnt pay more than a nickel each.

Not that it helps you all that much, but I get .05 per pound from my buyer.

I would go through it looking for mechanical ones. I just bought one for 2.39

I now have 3 in my garage, along with a 5.5" floppy drive, waiting for me to clean out the garage and list a few things up on fleecebay.

I'd pay $2 a piece on mechanical ones all day long... Not sure how fast they sell though.

sort of a sumary of what everyone else said. Don't pay for a keyboard unless you are sure you can sell it whole

I cut the ends off, and then I take the wire and toss it in the mixed wire box. and the keyboard, break it down, when I've the time, for the mylar. Hmmm that reminds Me.

I would not pay for any key board but would take them for free. I break them down for the mylar, small low grade board, #2 insulated wire, some have a steel plate in them.

We pay 0.02/lb for keyboards with cords. Nothing for keyboards without cords. We remove the keys of non-clicky boards and use them when we go into our high school and give our PowerPoint presentation about e-waste. The keys go to the lady in the art department and the kids make signs out of the keys. Stuff like... "I Love you mommy, stay out of my room, Mike's X-Box." It's a lot of fun for them and we talk to them about the importance of not throwing away electronics while they are doing it. We always get calls for 2-3 weeks following our school visits, the kids get fired up!
