Older Calculator Boards/Screen

Hey guys, picked up a box of older 80's calculators today. I checked ebay and they don't seem to be worth anything so I pulled them apart to get some low grade boards. That's where I ran into a couple things I wasn't sure about. All of them have a glass display that has pins coming out the bottom that are soldered to the board. Should I leave these in place or cut them off? If so should I keep or trash them? Also all of the "Royal" adding machines have a small board 3"x2" that seems to have gold plating for connectors but no resistors or chips. What pile should I put these into?

Sorry I haven't been here long enough to post pictures so hopefully you guys might now what I am talking about.

Before anyone says anything, I searched on the forum and found two threads that mention these but they didn't have any answers.

Welcome to the forum, I know the most valuable and collectible calculators/adding machines are from the 70's or older. Here's a picture of a Royal Digital V (1972) calculator, lots of gold in this one!
