finally a source for computers and other electronics

I stopped by a non profit thrift shop today and found out that they did not take non-working computer. I told him I would make a $2 dollar donation for every complete tower and take the monitors and keyboards off his hands. He seemed happy and I think he will probably be glad to move all the computers for $2. I said we would also take any thing metal and would pick up same day if need be. While there he gave us a bike w/o front wheel, 2 drawer metal cabinet, exercise bench and equipmment, decorative tin bucket, miscellaneous wire, and 2 ceiling fans. To cap it off bought shirt for 1.50 and it's plenty nice. I ruin many working at the farm and while doing scrap.

I also said I would get the word out about the shop and picked up some fliers. Also mentioned appliances but I'm really not sure how to price them though I doubt if I could get hurt at a buck or 2 per appliance.

Also indicated I could provide him with donations of household goods and clothing some personal and some from cleanouts.

Sounds like a great connection. You will both be able to help each other out.

Way to go MetalJ! I got shot down today from my favorite thrift shop, but hey sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. They already had someone that would take it and sell it for them.

This is what I do with items I keep from clean outs and cannot sell for any reason. I simply donate them. In return, I sometimes get extra discounts on shopping since I am always supplying them with something.

i did the exact same thing at my local donation center. i was looking to dump tvs and i got a laptop instead, then the nice lady took a stack of cards and ive gotten a few calls for local scrap pickups from there. i had to go by there the other day just to tell her thank you
