Question: Low Grade Board Component Shearing/Shredding?

Used to be called All World for a while. Changed names a few years ago. They are by the Union Metal plant. Share the same driveway.

Who are you using in Alliance for the boards? I used to sell some shred to Broadway Metal but as far as boards....never could find anyone local. That was my reason for breaking them down.

I'm working with American Recycling Services to start accepting e-waste and buying scrap in Alliance (the old Star Bronze factory).

Hoping to get started early next week.

I think just for mass shearing most scrapyards have a "gator shear" somewhere on grounds. you can use it to cut anything even circuit boards.
I chose the oldest one I could find because old scrap yards use them like shown in pictures

I use Alliance Computer for my crt's as well. Do they take tubes only? I was always led to believe that they only take whole crt's. Had no idea they paid for stuff. I always knew they were a bit on the shaddy side but like you said....it is what it is. Right now I am trying to find a source to get rid of ABS plastic.

I saw American's sign on the old Star building a few weeks ago. They got a nice building with a railroad spur.....could turn into something decent if they can make a go of it.

For ABS you might want to check out Maine Plastic (Hey Mick) up in Schoolcraft Mich. or Zion Ill. Don't know their story yet,,

I'm getting full use of facilities at American Recycling.

We will be buying plastic computer/electronics scrap.

I'm not sure if it will have to be cut up or not as I am not completely sure of the baler capacity.

I'll be joining the site soon as a paid member and will post prices.

We will be accepting everything.

They are having some hiccups getting started which is why I'm going to be a presence there.

I can start as soon as I get some material over there to strip.

Mainly keyboards and printers since we'll have the baler right there.

My plastic goes to Slesnick otherwise.

They have a high capacity baler that will bale monitor and TV hoods whole.

I get $ .03 for it loose in gaylords.

Sorted by color and baled I can fetch $ .14-24.

For a truckload of course.

I think we could do it at $ .05 and make a profit.

Thanks for the info. Right now ABS is my biggest problem as it seems no one wants to mess with it in pickup truck qty's or less. Keeps us posted via PM as if you guy's could take it loose in those qty's for $.05 per....I bet you would have quite a few sellers...I know I would use ya.
