Been mucking around again putting some ideas into reality and came up with a new design for a burner that seems to run very well on gas as well as the waste oil I designed it for.
I made this one a straight through design mainly for packaging/ setup ease. It works well as a burner for something like a furnace or could be used as a giant blowtorch for heating for breaking down scrap etc. This one is decieving in the amount of heat it puts out. I didn't think it was producing near the KW it was until I noticed the oil consumption. The short, quiet flame is a lot different to my other designs and even though I designed this unit to have a conservative ( for me) output, it cranks out the heat amazingly well.
Its a pretty straight forward construction and lights up easily and burns very clean thanks to the excess air design. It's also a bit quieter than a lot of other burners I have built and that could be improved upon but simply lengthening the burner casing.
This is the how to build vid and I'll follow up with more footage of it in operation.
I'm very pleased with this design and I'm going to do another but in a larger version for some truly ridicilous output and metal separation ability. :0)
