Recycling night curb stops?

I had an idea, let me know what you all think. Our town has free recycling for plastics glass and aluminum and I believe it goes out every other week. People often put them out in 5 gallon buckets and small drums. If I drove around on recycling nights and dumped the ones filled with a majority of aluminum cans into my truck to sort them in the barn. I would recycle the non metal for free, at the recycling center. If I was going someplace anyway and did this, as to no waste diesel, would it be a waste of time?

your town uses that for a revenue, they get paid for those cans, therefore you would be taking from your town, probably goes to parks and recreation, and as far as a waste of time i guess it would depend on how you like a 4x8 with bars

Dont do it. Back in my high school days. my friend thought of this to get $$$ for a new guitar. Long story short, He got arrested.

Thanks or the input everyone, I hadent even thought that I would be taking profits away from the town. That's not something I am wiling to do, on the me next idea!

im an "as needed" helper for a small trash company. His contract with the dump says that all the recyclables in the bins have to be brought to them. Luckily, scrap metal isn't listed in the contract and is not on the recycling flyer. His opinion is that anything i take that would normally cost him money to dump, is fine with him. he could do scrap himself, but he likes have me available to help.
