Just broke my record. 70 lbs of bare bright copper @ $3.50/ lb, 27 lbs of motors @ $.12/ lb, 23 lbs of brass @ $1.70/ lb, and 9 lbs of aluminum @ $.55/ lb for a total of $256 and change.
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer

Just the other day I broke my record- $250 for a van and 4x8 trailer full.

245.00 + 3.24 + 39.10 + 4.95 = 292.29. Do they take taxes out or something?

Oh, ok. Good haul though.
Worked for an electrical contractor in 1998 and we replaced all the wires under the flight line on Little Rock AFB. We hauled in four loads of 4/0 wire on a 30 ft gooseneck trailer. Copper was low back then, but it was several thousand dollars. My personal cut was a little over $700.
Since I've started scrapping again, Little over 1200lbs of mixed metal, and a few electric motors for $150.

Found 61 car batteries at a dump spot, $366 for that alone. The rest was from mostly bulk trash pick up for one weeks worth.

i am small time, but trying to grow. Have done a couple jobs that were $3,000 plus, total. My best single load so far was today...a lil over $1100. A friend and I are bidding a partnership job. If it comes through, it will be about a $20,000 job.
