whats the most youve made in one scrap run.

hey guys, just started scrapping this spring. Just curious of whats the biggest load weight and money wise you guys have brought back? thought this would be a fun topic. Ive brought back 900 pounds of aluminum for $118 which is my lowest other then bringing in a few small copper things. The most ive got was $325 from a 82 ford f150 (2 tons if i remember right), not including the copper wiring, caddy, rads and battery. so what is the most you guys have brought back?

sorry im new to the site, trying to find out how to add pictures.

Most so far was $1,903. That was a pile of copper.

Biggest load....well it was one job, consisting of several trips. 17 tons of file cabinets.

You only got 118 bucks for 900 lbs of aluminum? Sounds like you got ripped off.

Agreed on that one even aluminum breakage usually pays .30 to .40. But dont feel bad i was getting ripped everytime before i found this site.

$1234. Hard to forget that number! One pickup bed full of nonferrous. First load of spring and right before prices dropped out.

Not too much, as scrapping is a hobby and not so much a business for me. I made $420 on one trip. Mostly copper and brass I was saving up.

You guys are probably gonna laugh at me, but $160 off a few buckets of non-ferrous stuff. I just got into hardcore scrapping after I cleaned out my garage last summer, and I mostly deal with $50-$60 loads of ferrous stuff. I just scored a huge load of wire from a construction site today, so I'm hoping to break my record

You know we all have to start some whare and the big NFL pro's had to start out on some junior team along the way. You may not have pulled in $1500 in one load but hey, you got $160 richer I say good job!!!! (:
    God Bless

That's how you do it. Not every load is a jackpot. My last two loads were $72 and $55. Space eating appliances.

Props on the wire score. Was it left over, or a tear out or?

Thinking about a different approach for appliances.

I'm looking for a 25 to 30 foot travel trailer that's been wrecked or no longer usable, gut it, put sides on it. Then using dads skidsteer I'd crush them and fill up the trailer.

Might be a bunch of ****ing around, but as it is it's a hassle to run a few appliances in at a time.

Yeah i'm on the same boat, my good friends cousin owns the CAMP-OUT's in NJ so im going to talk to him and see if i can work something out on a hydraulic dump trailer,,, seen one on ebay its BUY IT NOW for $1,999 but its in Tennessee, and the shipping would prob cost me my first new born lol so maybe i can make out like a bandit and get a nice price from him, cause i could sure use one asap.!

My biggest job got me $700. Took awhile to do, but I have no trailer. Scrapping is part time for me and I do it after my 10 hours at the full time nightmare job.

My biggest single load has only been payout at around $90. I don't hold on to much for to long. I get a container, I go drop it off.
