Electric Motors

I have a collection of electric motors (DC Brush, DC Brushless, AC induction) that I want to recycle.

My yard pays for the motors as a whole, but I've hard that if I tear the motors apart (pull the copper windings out and separate the types of metal) I can make more money than the motor alone. Is this really worth it?

I know each motor may be different, but if any of you have done this, what have you found? Is it worth it? I'm sure there is another post somewhere on this topic, but I didn't see one in a quick glance, so feel free to point me to another post if you know of it.

I personally do not think it is worth the time to do this, other may though.

Unless you have some large HP motors, the small ones should just get sold as is.

The whole idea is to pull the copper out of the motor. One I get the copper windings exposed, I take a band saw with a metal blade, and cut through the windings that stick out of the motor. Then with a combination of hammer and punch, and prying up on the other side of the windings, I knock the copper windings out of the grooves that hold them in place.
