Personally, I have a small (reality size) sign in my front yard that reads that I buy batteries, and the price. People stop by and drop off batteries, anywhere from 1 to 4 at a time. I don't even have to pick them up. I pay 1.50 for garden tractor/motorcycle and $ 4-5 for car/truck batteries.
I get from $ 5 to 10-12 when I sell depending on size.
