First box of copper went to parents in IL. Cost about .22 per lb to ship. Difference in copper price between yards was approx. $1. Mostly an experiment, now looking for buyers but not so much why I started this thread.

$50 dollars face value in Lincoln cents = 69.5Lbs and fits perfectly in a large flat rate box. should see the look at the PO when dropping those off.

Are these usable hard drives or hard drives for scrap? If scrap, would that be worth what you'll get for them?

Pizzaman do you do anything special to secure that heavy of a box?
Hard drives went to PTS. Had a bit of ram in it but was basically 37 lbs. For scrap I would remove boards and sell carcass weight local.

Gold connector ends without IDE ribbon ends = 26 lbs large flat rate. About .58 per lb. Better than parcel post for me but maybe no one else.? IDE ends = 17lbs large flat rate.

I just packed a large flat rate box with 35 lbs of gold ram. I wish I could do that more often!
I am wondering if you have discovered one of the few ways to do well recycling ewaste from your location, ie ship to PTS. Are you able to do similar with your mother boards? I thinking since you have gotten this figured out it puts you ahead of others near you. I also have to ship ewaste to make enough to make it profitable but I think its much more so true in your case. Mike.

Yeah I send items to PTS. This was just the ram that didn't meet his criteria. Sending out the motherboards and such sucks. Basically works out to $1 a lb if the box is up near the 70 lb limit through USPS. Fed Ex rates were worse even with the buyers discount. Almost pointless to send out colored MBs and high mid grade as half the money goes to shipping. I'm happy when I can fill large flat rate boxes with more than 20 lbs, because it becomes a shipping discount to me. I've hit 40 lbs+ with brass as well.
