An extension cord can go a long way

An extension cord can go a long way, especially for a scrapper and here's why.

Pretty much any APPLIANCE with a cord on it, can sell on Craigslist for far more than scrap value, fairly quickly.

Any of the following items can sell as is within a week or so

Washers
Dryers
Dishwashers
Air conditioners
Refrigerators
Microwaves
TVs can sell if they're not the big old bulky ones
and more just use common sense

Have an extension cord at your shop, or your back yard ready to go. It only takes a minute to see if it works or not.

The more items that you find that you can sell quickly, the more money you make as a scrapper. Just because you're a 'scrapper' doesn't mean everything should go to the scrap yard.

Here and there give it a shot, see what's worth it and what's not. Next thing you know each trailer load you pick up might earn you several hundred, as opposed to just a hundred or two.

Selling to a scrap yard will ALWAYS pay out the lowest monetary value of any item. Selling to a PERSON who will use the item will ALWAYS pay more.

Careful plugging in tvs finding out they arnt work and then scrapping them. I got many shocks this way.

My staging area is out behind the barn, it takes 2 100ft extension cords to reach, so I don't put any loads on it, hardly even run my 4.5 amp mini grinder. Got a fridge out there now I'd like to check, but no way I'll try it on those little cords. I pulled the AC out of a window I'd wired it to several years ago, and recently pulled the wire from that jack to head towards the barn with. It's 220 from the main box (dual 20 amp breakers) and reaches halfway across the back yard, from where I'll tag in an old dryer/oven wire(not really sure what it was from, but it's heavy, 8 awg) that'll add another 60 ft, to a box where I'll put 2 15 amp GFCI plugs(stepping it down to 110 at that point) with a good ground rod beside it, and that'll get me within the reach of an extra heavy 70 ft extension cord which I hope will be good for near 15 amp surge, because that's where most appliance and heavy power tools reach at startup

Why don't you make one of the grounding units that Hoss and I talked about?? One day a shock may stop your heart, why take the chance. We still need you on this forum for awhile yet,,,,lol
