Like what vintage? pre-2000's? Can you give an approximate year range for when the computers were made?

I think I remember an extra ISA slot on motherboards still in the mid to late nineties...so before that.

Can they be sold for more than scrap if they cannot be tested?

Here's one I pulled out of an IBM PS/2. It says "Advantage", "AST" and "202051-001 REV.R" on it. Did not find any auctions with this card on eBay so don't know whether it's worth more than telecom grade scrap.

This is a card with a COM and LPT port on it. Nothing special.

Yes, the machine I took it out from booted partially which is what I will say if I put it on eBay.

Not with all those RAM chips on it, it must be a RAM card as well (multi function).

I don't recommend them for shipping, or for show and tell, but liquor store boxes make great card holders, if you'll get the ones with all the cardboard bottle holding slats still there. They're ready made card holders which usually hold the card by the metal bracket, basically hanging free there, and leaving the socket or plug showing so you can readily distinguish the video cards from network cards etc.
